WFI WRAPS PRODUCTION ON 40 EPISODES OF UNSCRIPTED TV, CONCLUDING HIGHEST VOLUME YEAR TO DATE

It’s been a wild ride in 2023, Wookey Films’ busiest season yet!

Production just wrapped on the live-action, children’s wildlife-rescue series, Manaachihtow! À la rescousse des animaux sauvages. Over the course of the show’s 26 episodes, hosted by Maïtée Labrecque-Saganash and aimed at 7-10 year old kids, Manaachitow follows the amazing staff and volunteers at Manitoba’s Wildlife Haven Animal Hospital as they care for over 75 different animal patients who are rescued, treated, healed and released back into the wild. Manaachihtow (which means ‘rescued’ in Méchif) is set to air on Radio-Canada late in 2024 or early 2025.

Wookey also produced C’est moi qui décide!, a charming, 14 episode unscripted co-viewing series where families are given the chance to turn over all control to the kids in the house. In each episode, parents are sent away for the weekend on a short get-away completely planned by their children. While the parents are away, the kids stay at home to play, wreak havoc and generally, make ALL the rules. Always under the watchful eye of C’est moi qui décide! host and Canada’s biggest kid, Montreal-based comedian Jérémie Larouche. C’est moi qui décide! is set to air on Unis TV/TV5 in January 2024.

With casting for the second season of C’est moi qui décide! underway and new development conversations being held every day, Wookey Films is entering 2024 with pride, enthusiasm and gratitude.

The two phenomenal hosts of WFI’s unscripted productions for 2023: Jérémie Larouche of C’est moi qui décide! and Maïtée Labrecque-Saganash of Manaachitow!
