The 66th: The People of the Arctic Circle

Project Overview

To most Canadians, the Arctic is a far-away place that we’ll never visit. We experience it through snippets of footage and sad stories on the evening news about melting ice and starving polar bears. The 66th changes this perspective by putting the spotlight on the diverse people who inhabit the North and by giving them a voice to share their stories and perspective. Jimmy Blais, an urban native from Montreal, takes an epic journey around the Arctic Circle to show the world the true Arctic – a place alive with vibrant people whose grit and resilience is unrivaled. A place full of stunning vistas and unique wildlife. And a place where the constant drumbeat of change is an everyday reality.
