SYNOPSIS

Chuck is a hard man. He works his 40 square km trapline, in the most brutal Canadian winter conditions. He has intimate knowledge of the bush and of the animals that live there. He’s never let Sam get too close or too hands-on to any of his work on the line. That is about to change. Now living in the city and working as an award-winning cameraman and filmmaker, Sam yearns to return home to a life he left behind to reconnect to his roots as a Metis man and to claim his heritage as his own over the course of a winter out on the trapline with his father. ‘A Life on the Line’ delves deep into the lifestyle, history, and culture of the Metis people from a personal, hands-on perspective through the relationship between a father who earns his living with his hands and a son who earns a living telling stories.
